Unchanged: leaving Unilever

Leaving Unilever? You can either leave your pension with us or transfer it to a new pension provider.

Transferring pension rights to another pension provider is called a ‘value transfer’. As a result of a value transfer, upon retirement, you will receive your pension from a single provider.

If you begin accruing pension capital with a new employer, you may—without any obligation—submit a request for a value transfer with your new employer. Based on their offer, you decide whether or not to transfer your Forward pension to the new provider.

Most pension funds will transition to a new pension scheme between 2025 and 2028. If one fund has already transitioned and the other has not (but intends to), the law requires that any value transfer request be suspended until both funds have completed the transition. This prevents individuals from benefiting from buffer redistribution at two separate funds. Compensation is only granted by the pension fund where you are an active participant at the time.
